Your Canadian Representative for ISED certification

If your company isn't based in Canada, ISED won't accept your radio equipment certification without a Canadian Representative on file. We're that representative, and unlike most, we actually know your product.

ISED requires it. There's no way around it.

RSP-100, Section 4.1 is explicit:

“A Canadian representative is required when the applicant's company address is not within Canada.”

If the applicant address on your certification is outside Canada, ISED needs a named Canadian representative in that file. No representative, no certification. No certification, no legal sale of your product in Canada.

The same requirement appears in DC-01 Section 6 for terminal equipment registered by declaration of conformity.

Most manufacturers find this out from their test lab, halfway through a certification, with a launch date already committed.

That's usually the day people call us.

One appointment. Both instruments.

Your lab might tell you that you need a representative under RSP-100, for certified radio apparatus. Or under DC-01, for terminal equipment registered by declaration of conformity. Most firms sell those as two separate products. We cover both under one appointment, including the signed Canadian Representative Letter that DC-01 requires and RSP-100 doesn't.

As your Canadian Representative, we:
Appear as your named Canadian Representative on ISED Form A
Respond to every ISED enquiry about your certified equipment
Handle audit sample requests and coordinate delivery to ISED
Relay everything to your team with a recommended response, not just a forwarded email
Issue your signed attestation letter, usually the same day you ask
And we're clear about what we're not
Not your importer or importer of record
Not your distributor or seller
Not the holder of your certification
We don't warrant your test results. Under ISED's own Form A, that warranty is the applicant's, and it stays with you

Some firms blur that line in their marketing. We'd rather you know exactly where the boundary sits, because that's the boundary ISED recognises too.

We already speak your language

Most Canadian Representative services are a mailbox with a signature. Fine, until ISED asks a real question about your product.

Your Main Guy is a regulatory compliance specialist for the lighting and electrical industries. Wireless lighting controls, DALI and Zigbee drivers, Bluetooth mesh, occupancy sensors, networked luminaires, smart switches, emergency lighting monitors. This is the work we do every day.

So when ISED writes about your RSS-247 filing, or your lab raises an ICES-003 Class B question, you get an answer from someone who has read a test report before. Not a referral back to your lab.

We answer

Published response times, not vague promises. Attestation letters same business day. ISED enquiries acknowledged within one business day.
